AI Thought Experiment | 2025
Invitation: Process Partnerships Forming
Are you grappling with questions about the design and development of ethical AI? Are you interested in new ways to generate co-created models? Ideal partners could be organizations, higher ed institutions or associations actively involved in the policy, technology, or ethics of AI development and deployment. Contact me at kdregt@gmail.com to explore ways we can collaborate.
Project: The AI Thought Experiment brings together leaders in AI development and deployment alongside ethicists, artists, educators, industrial ecologists, and invested community members to generate a vision for a people-centered AI ecosystem by creating with their values. Spaces for creative practice provide a way to explore new or emergent ideas generatively, without an expectation to take a position or represent a constituency or institution. It can enable participants to bring their knowledge, expertise, and ethics, without the constraints of their professional or public roles. It also opens opportunities to notice new data (from body, gesture, sound, images, etc.) and to bring complex information down from the head into the body. Emotions often signal what matters most and what is at stake. Attending to this data can make space for reflection on what personal shifts are possible when entering the systems each of us are influencing.
Participants will engage with scores that include reflection prompts, storytelling, and collaborative values-based design processes. The participants will explore, share their values, and articulate a vision for AI development and deployment in alignment with the world they want to live in.
